Wagenbouw HAPERT B.V. has for many years set the standard that
others aspire to in the trailer sector. The company offers
transport solutions that are tailored to the requirements of
individual users. Most of the registered trailers in the market
segment up to 3,500 kg in the Netherlands are HAPERT trailers.
History
After collaborating for seven years with his brother in Wagenbouw
Saris, Ad Saris founded Wagenbouw HAPERT in 1966. Initially, the
new company built its products to order only, purely based on
customer demand. The company grew steadily and built up an ever
increasing base of satisfied customers by continuing to react
alertly to changing needs in the trailer market. Initially,
trailers were only supplied in the Netherlands. Ad Saris junior
acquired all the shares in the company in the early
nineteen-nineties. The export activities to countries on Holland's
borders increased substantially. Today, Hapert trailers are sold
via an extensive network of dealers in many different European
countries.
The move to the new, modern factory on the Handelsweg in 2000 was
a major step in further strengthening the company's market
position. While this substantially increased capacity, demand soon
outstripped supply again. Consequently, a competitor in Beverwijk,
Verdonk Aanhangwagens, was acquired in 2005. This increased
capacity by approximately 10,000 m2 to more than 25,000 m2. The
assembly shop for closed trailers moved from Hapert to Beverwijk.
Wagenbouw HAPERT B.V. currently produces more than 10,000 braked
trailers per year. |
Extensive range
Wagenbouw HAPERT B.V. wants to satisfy its customers and
continually reacts to their requirements. The company started out
by building trailers to individual specification. Today, customers
can put together a personalised trailer specification by selecting
items from various modules, options and accessories. The basic
range is still very extensive. As a result, the company does not
make finished trailers for stock. Even so, the delivery period for
the most commonly sold trailers is not much longer than two to
three weeks. Product standardisation has helped to keep prices
highly competitive.
Modern technology in combination with old-fashioned
craftsmanship
In spite of the extensive range, which often gives customers the
impression that they have specified a custom-built trailer, more
than 80% of the trailer chassis are welded using advanced robots.
Short set-up times and modern logistic processes based on
lean-manufacturing and QRM keep the time required to process orders
short and allow the company to react to demand with maximum
flexibility. The operating processes have been optimised as far as
possible by the use of modern computer technology. However,
craftsmanship is still the main ingredient in our trailer designs.
Modern technology combined with craftsmanship guarantees the
superior quality of HAPERT trailers. |
Trailers with HAPERT quality
In addition to the ambition of producing high-quality products,
Wagenbouw HAPERT B.V. works to achieve high quality standards
throughout the organisation. This has resulted in both strong
relationships with a professional dealer network and a permanent
pool of very experienced and expert employees who feel closely
involved with the company.
Together, they ensure that many thousands of HAPERT trailers find
their way to our customers every year. Customers who consciously
choose the best there is in terms of practicality, finish and
durability.
